Its precision die-formed housing is available in 12, 14, or 16-gauge cold rolled steel, with continuously welded end plates for added strength. The clamshell-style door frame features TIG-welded corners and tamper-resistant TORX® fasteners with center pins, ensuring the fixture remains secure against vandalism and tampering. A concealed full-length piano hinge adds to the fixture’s integrity, while the backplate includes embossed mounting holes and a contraband trap critical features for maintaining safety in secure environments.

The VRC-3524 offers multiple lens options for both the fixture-facing and room-facing sides, with a combined maximum thickness of 0.625". These lenses are designed to resist impact and prevent penetration, making the unit highly suitable for vandal resistant lighting applications. The fixture is finished in a high-reflectivity white powder coat, enhancing both durability and lighting efficiency.

Internally, the VRC-3524 is powered by long-life LEDs paired with high-efficiency drivers, delivering L80 performance beyond 50,000 hours. It supports standard low-voltage dimming (0–10V, down to 1%) and maintains a total harmonic distortion (THD) of less than 10%. All electrical components are CSA or UL approved, and a ½” EMT hole is provided for secure wiring connections. Optional features include emergency battery packs and red LED arrays, allowing customization for specific facility needs.
