At Viscor, we’re committed to reducing our environmental footprint and being a responsible member of our global community. We strive to improve environmental sustainability through all levels of our operations. Here is a list of just a few ways Visioneering is making a difference:
Not only do we manufacture energy efficient lighting at Visioneering, but we also use energy efficient lighting in our facilities. Our factory, warehouse and corporate offices all feature the latest in energy efficient LED and fluorescent lighting products. The use of dimming and motion sensors, where applicable, also assists in our total energy savings.
Visioneering is committed to improving our environment by reusing materials whenever possible. Unused or excess materials such as corrugate, plastics and steel are recycled as part of our program.
Our powder coating production lines produce less hazardous waste than conventional liquid coatings. No paint sludge is produced, as arises from water-wash booths used to trap over-sprayed liquid paint. Our powder coatings emit zero or near zero volatile organic compounds
Our new manufacturing methods allow us to reuse our water supply up to four times before drainage. With this more efficient system, we consume 5 times less water in the process of running our facilities.
Proposition 65, officially the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a law that requires businesses to provide warnings to Californians about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. These chemicals can be in the products that Californians purchase, in their homes or workplaces, or that are released into the environment. By requiring that this information be provided, Proposition 65 enables Californians to make informed decisions about their exposures to these chemicals.
